Ad hoc-Mitteilung verarbeitet und übermittelt durch die DGAP. Für den Inhalt der Mitteilung ist der Emittent verantwortlich. —————————————————————————— Suss MicroTec acquires high-tech company in Silicon Valley Munich, 27th October 2000 – The Suss MicroTec AG has opened the door to further growth with a further new acquisition. The semiconductor equipment supplier has taken over the American company MFI-Technologies located in San Jose in Silicon Valley. MFI has developed the leading technology available to test the next generation of chips. Through the purchase, Suss has been able to include high-end equipment in its range of so-called Probers which are used to test. Through the acquisition of the MFI products, the Suss MicroTec reckons with an increase in turnover in the region of some tens of millions Euro over the coming years. A further advantage of the acquisition is that Suss now has a branch in Silicon Valley as well as its production site in Waterbury, Vermont. Being located so close to many important customers in Silicon Valley gives Suss far better opportunities to further build upon its technological leadership in a number of areas through close cooperation with customers. MFI will be completely integrated into the SUSS Group with current CEO David Fisher remaining in his position.
