Munich, Germany, February 7, 2008 – According to preliminary figures, the
SUSS MicroTec Group (business address: Schleissheimer Strasse 90, 85748
Garching, Germany; ISIN: DE0007226706) achieved sales of approximately EUR
146 million in fiscal year 2007 (previous year: EUR 156 million). The
high-tech company listed in the Prime Standard of the Deutsche Börse AG
(German stock exchange) is thus lagging behind the original sales and
earnings forecast communicated at the beginning of the fiscal year, but
will be able to outperform the sales guidance revised on October 29, 2007
by about EUR 6 million with sales estimates for fiscal year 2007 amounting
to EUR 140 million. The earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR
5.9 million (previous year: EUR 16.0 million) remains at the low end of
expectations. This was due to additional costs for the C4NP production
systems still to be delivered to IBM.

During the fourth and strongest quarter of fiscal year 2007, the
Munich-based company achieved sales of EUR 47 million (previous year: EUR
42 million) as well as order entry of approximately EUR 54 million
(previous year: EUR 39 million). Lithography, the Group’s core segment, was
a key contributor to the second highest level of order entry in the
company’s history and the good sales development of the SUSS MicroTec Group
between October and December.

Following the issuance of a promissory note bond (Schuldscheindarlehen) at
the end of fiscal year 2007, the cash and cash equivalents amounted to
approximately EUR 20 million. The net cash position declined slightly at
year-end 2007 to EUR 7.7 million (September 30, 2007: EUR 8.3 million).

SUSS MicroTec is anticipating a good first half of fiscal year 2008: this
expectation is based on the high level of order backlog, which was EUR 78
million at the end of fiscal year 2007.

The final key figures for fiscal year 2007, which may still deviate from
the above-mentioned figures, will be published on March 28, 2008.
