The sender is responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Record quarter for Süss MicroTec AG Sales up 84% Orders up 157% Munich, 07 July 2000 – At Süss MicroTec AG sales and orders have risen to record heights in the second quarter. In the second quarter 2000, net sales (after commissions and freight) rose by 84% to DM 67.3m (Euro 34.4m). Total orders in the same period added 157% to a net DM 102.9m (Euro 52.6m). The book-to- bill ratio (orders in relation to sales) amounts to 1,5. Therefore turnover in the first half-year reached a net DM 110.8m (Euro 56.7m), 73% more than in the same period last year. Total orders in the first half-year rose by 158% to DM 188.9m (Euro 96.6m). As at 30 June 2000 the order book stood at DM 150.2m (Euro 76.8m), which is 230% above the corresponding value of the previous year. The final results will be announced at the beginning of August.
