SUSS MicroTec AG: Dr. Franz Richter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board
resigns ahead of schedule

Munich, Germany, March 26, 2009 - SUSS MicroTec (business address:
Schleissheimer Strasse 90, 85748 Garching, Germany; ISIN: DE0007226706),
listed in the Prime Standard of Deutsche Börse AG, announced today that Dr.
Franz Richter will resign early as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of
SUSS MicroTec AG on conclusion of this year's Shareholders' Meeting on June
24, 2009.

The resignation is due to possible future conflicts of interest which might
occur from the realignment of the product strategy of the Company and his
function as CEO of Thin Materials AG, Eichenau.
