Board Appointments

Surefire Resources NL Limited (“ Surefire ” or “the Company ”) is pleased to announce that Mr. Rahul Singh and Mr. Jan Sloane will today join the Surefire Resource’s Board as Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director respectively.

Mr Brett Clark – Executive Director, states that “these two (2) appointments underline the confidence in Surefire. It is vital that the Board can apply experience, business knowledge and strategic insights to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead and the combined presence of Mr Singh and Mr Sloane will be the right mix to achieve this end”.

The Board resolved to appoint Mr Singh and Mr Sloane as part of a strategic review of the Company's operations (including its assets and liabilities) and direction. Mr Brett Clark commented that the significant knowledge and experience of the incoming directors will greatly assist the Company in reviewing its current business plan and strategy, as well as the Company's historical corporate governance practices. As part of this review the Company intends to undertake a detailed review of transactions between the Company and former directors and their associates.

As part of the Board restructure Mr Brett Clark was appointed to the role of Executive Director upon the resignation of the Managing Director Mr David Sumich. Mr John Wareing will step down as Non Executive Chairman and continue in a Non Executive Director role and Mr Victor Turco will continue as a Non Executive Director and as Company Secretary.

Rahul Singh

Rahul Singh LLB, B.Com. (Microeconomics) Melbourne University, Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and New South Wales. Formerly corporate counsel to the RTZ Group (formerly known as CRA/Comalco), general counsel to the ING Group (formerly Mercantile Mutual Limited), McKinsey & Co, partner in Gerrad Klauer Matison Wall Street Investment Banking firm, founder and Chairman DCMR . Formerly Chairman Tasmania Magnesite NL and, former Board member, Beacon Hill Resources PLC, founder and Chairman, Chairman of private mining company BTAC Group. He is a founding Charter member from Silicon Valley of the entrepreneurial group TIE and Chairman of the India Leadership Council.

Jan Peter Sloane

Mr. Sloan is a senior executive with extensive finance experience in the corporate and professional services sectors. A graduate of Melbourne University and is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand. Jan worked with KPMG and predecessor firms for 13 years before taking up a position as Director, Company Secretary and CFO for the Melbourne Liberman family’s flagship company JGL Investments Pty and its controlled entities in 1989. As a result, Jan has solid hands-on operational experience with, and a strong appreciation of, regulatory, commercial, financial, capital structure and external stakeholder management issues and requirements associated with major assets within an ASX-listed environment in Australia.

Both Mr. Singh and Mr. Sloane are welcomed members to the Surefire Resources Limited Board.
