CORPORATE AND TECHNICAL TEAM UPDATE
Avalon Minerals Limited ('Avalon' or 'Company') (ASX: AVI) is pleased to announce new appointments to its corporate and technical team.
Gavin Leicht has been appointed to the position of CFO and Company Secretary effective immediately. Mr Leicht replaces the two part time positions of CFO held by Ms Karla Wilcox and Company Secretary held by Ms Roslynn Shand.
Mr Leicht has 20 years' experience in various financial roles, including more than 10 years in senior financial positions in the resources sector in Australia and overseas with Rio Tinto Limited and PanAust Limited.
Mr Leicht holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Newcastle. He is also a Member of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants.
Dr. Bruce Rohrlach has been appointed to the position of Consulting Chief Geologist. Dr Rohrlach brings to Avalon extensive experience in copper discovery and feasibility studies. Dr. Rohrlach has lead the technical teams responsible for discovery and advancement of the 2 billion tonne Tujuh Bukit copper-gold deposit in Indonesia, and the recent discovery of the Cascabel deposit, a significant porphyry copper project in Ecuador. Dr. Rohrlach has previously worked with WMC Resources, Intrepid Mines, and in his own global consultancy.
