APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATE DIRECTOR

Australian resources company Avalon Minerals Limited ('Avalon' or 'Company') (ASX: AVI) announces the appointment of Mr Ler Leong Keh as an alternate director for Dato Siew Mun Chuang, effective immediately.

An Appendix 3X is attached to this release.

The qualifications and experience of Mr Leh are as follows:

Mr. Ler Leong Keh, C.A. (M), C.P.A (M), C.P.A (Aust.) F.T.I.I., M.B.A. (Finance), CMIIA

Mr. Ler Leong Keh, a Certified Public Accountant, is one of the founders and the Managing Director of IBDC Malaysia since 2003. He was the Executive Director and later promoted to the Managing Director of a public listed company in Malaysia from 1998 to 2003 when he left to set up IBDC (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

He has more than 20 years of experience in various fields relating to his profession as a certified public accountant and corporate adviser. He also holds a post-graduate MBA degree in Finance (with Distinction) from the University of Hull, United Kingdom which he obtained in 1994 and a professional member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia.

He worked in Price Waterhouse ( now Pr icewaterhouseCoopers) Kuala Lumpur and London offices for more than 10 years and has conducted assignments out of Singapore, Perth and other offices. He has gained exposure to local and multinational clients in manufacturing, mining, financial services, trading, services, ICT and plantations industries (including the two largest plantation groups listed in Bursa Malaysia). He also has many years' experience in the listing and fundraising exercises of growing companies, both in the profession and in the commercial sector. He is currently a non-independent non-executive director of a company listed in Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
