APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATE DIRECTOR

Australian resources company Avalon Minerals Limited ('Avalon' or 'Company') (ASX: AVI) announces the appointment of Mr David Sanders as an alternate director for Mr Siew Mun Wai (Edward Siew), effective 1 November 2013.

An Appendix 3X is attached to this release.

The qualifications and experience of Mr David Sanders are as follows:

BCom, BJuris, LLB (Hons)

Mr Sanders has over 20 years' experience in corporate law and is a Principal at Bennett + Co, a specialist corporate and commercial law firm based in Perth, Western Australia. He holds bachelor degrees in law and commerce from the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investments from the Securities Institute of Australia. David has advised numerous ASX listed companies and private companies on capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules compliance and corporate governance.

Mr Sanders has also acted as a non-executive director of a number of listed, private and charitable companies over the last 10 years. Currently Mr Sanders is a Non-Executive Director of ASX listed Quickflix Limited, Marenica Energy Ltd and Eclipse Metals Limited, a Non-Executive Director of a private company International Raw Materials Pty Ltd and is Chairman of Murlpirrmarra Connection Limited a registered charitable company focussing on education and training opportunities for indigenous youth in the Yilgarn region of Western Australia.
