Management Changes

Avalon is pleased to announce that Mr Ian Wallace and Dr Quinton Hills have been appointed by the Company to jointly fulfil an interim management role for the Company, effective immediately.

This joint management role is pending the recruitment of a new CEO for the Company.

Dr Hills, as Exploration Manager, will manage all technical and operational matters, whilst Mr Wallace, as Business Manager, will manage all corporate and communication matters.

The Chairman of Avalon, Mr Graham Ascough, said “I welcome the appointment of Dr Hills and Mr Wallace to take on this interim management role for the Company. They are both very experienced in the mining industry and possess a detailed knowledge of the Company’s operations and the Viscaria Project in Sweden”.

“It is extremely pleasing that we are able to draw on our in-house resources during this interim period and I, along with my fellow board members, look forward to working closely with both Dr Hills and Mr Wallace” he added.

The recruitment process for a new CEO will be undertaken by the Company and the market kept informed on progress as required.

The Company also advises that the interim management and advisory services provided by Ferrier Hodgson have now ceased.

Mr Ian Wallace – Business Manager

Mr Wallace has a 30+ year career in mining, project development and exploration across base and precious metals, coal and seam gas. He has held Business, Commercial and Administrative roles with Meridian Minerals, BHP Billiton, Anglo American, Pancontinental Mining and Renison Goldfields. Mr Wallace has extensive experience in negotiation, due diligence and management of joint ventures; project sales and acquisitions for an international mix of projects; management of Stakeholder engagements with Indigenous people, property owners and the communities in which exploration and mining has been undertaken; and company takeovers and defence.

Dr Quinton Hills – Exploration Manager

Dr Hills’ expertise is in mineral exploration and target generation with a successful discovery track record. His previous roles include Exploration Manager, Meridian Minerals - Lennard Shelf Project (Kimberley, WA), where he lead the exploration team that increased the project resources from 8.2Mt to 17.73Mt @ 9.5% Zn + Pb; and Senior Geologist at Discovery Metals Limited – Boseto Copper Project (Botswana), where he discovered the Plutus Copper Deposit (67Mt @ 1.4% Cu). Dr Hills has a Ph.D in Structural Geology and Tectonics with extensive experience in multiply deformed and highly metamorphosed terranes. Quinton also managed the Scoping, Prefeasibility and Feasibility studies of Lennard Shelf Lead-Zinc Project for Meridian Minerals.
