APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIRMAN AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

Avalon Minerals Limited ( Avalon ) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman and a new Managing Director for the Company effective immediately.

The Board of Directors elected Tan Sri Abu Sahid Bin Mohamed as Chairman of the Company. Tan Sri is Avalon’s largest shareholder and has been a Director of the company since 2009.

The Board also elected a New Managing Director, Mr Jeremy Read. Jeremy was previously Managing Director of Meridian Minerals and Discovery Metals.

The previous Managing Director Mr Andrew Munckton has agreed to remain a Director of the Company.

The Board welcomes the appointments to ensure ongoing stability and a smooth transition as the Company looks to recommence assessment and exploration activities on the Viscaria Project in Northern Sweden.

The Board believes the strong leadership of the Company provided by these appointments will deliver a sound footing to create value for the shareholders over the long term.

Incoming Managing Director Mr Jeremy Read said “I am excited about the opportunity to come and join the team at Avalon as I believe that the Viscaria Project has a lot of potential to create value for shareholders through an enhanced exploration program and assessment of the significant Mineral Resources which already exist on the project.”
