On April 12, 2016, SunOpta Inc. issued a press release to announce that its subsidiary, SunOpta Foods Inc., intends, subject to market and other conditions, to offer approximately $300 million in aggregate principal amount of senior secured second lien notes due 2023 in a private offering in the near future. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference herein.
