BOARD CHANGES

Strike Energy Limited (ASX:STX)(“Strike” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the following changes to its Board of Directors.

Mr Stuart Nicholls and Mr Andrew Seaton have been appointed as Managing Director and Non-Executive Director respectively, and Mr Simon Ashton and Mr Brendan Ostwald have resigned from the Board. The changes are effective 18 August 2017.

Mr Nicholls joined the Company in April 2017 as its Chief Executive Officer. Since that time, under the guidance of the board, he has refocused the Company on its core technical competencies, with the clear aim of realising the substantial value extant in Strike’s deep seam coal assets in the Southern Cooper Basin.

Mr Seaton has over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector, encompassing a broad range of finance, strategy, commercial, investment banking, engineering and project management roles. He has a deep understanding of domestic Australian gas markets and the global LNG industry having worked with Santos Ltd for 12 years, including 6 years as Chief Financial Officer. His prior experience includes originating and executing M&A, equity and debt capital markets transactions with Merrill Lynch in Australia and New York.

The Company has agreed to grant Mr Seaton 5 million options to subscribe for fully paid ordinary shares at an exercise price of $0.15 with a 3-year exercise period. The grant of the options is subject to shareholder approval, which will be sought at the next shareholder meeting.

“The appointment of Andrew Seaton is a great recognition of Strike’s recent progress and exciting future. Andrew brings deep leadership experience gained from working at Santos, together with his extensive ability and knowledge in capital markets. In addition, Andrew is based in Adelaide, which further supports our recent decision to focus on South Australia which is home to our major stakeholders, customers and partners.

Stuart joins the board as Managing Director from his current role as Chief Executive Officer. Strike’s progress in the first 120 days under Stuart’s leadership s has been very impressive. The board is now keen to fully utilise Stuart’s skills and ability as an executive director.

We thank both Simon and Brendan for their valued contributions to the Company. As a co-founder, Simon has been involved with Strike for over 20 years and has been a great technical sounding board during that time. Brendan has built networks and superbly supported operations at Strike for several years now. We wish Simon and Brendan all the best in their future endeavours.”
