BOARD & MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS

Strike Energy Limited (ASX: STX) is pleased to announce new appointments to our Board of Directors and senior management team.

The Company’s new Directors and senior management appointees boost Strike’s ability to generate value from our key Australian and USA assets and also enhance our capacity to assess and execute new projects and corporate opportunities.

In addition, we advise Shareholders that:

• Eagle Ford leasing – The Eagle Landing Joint Venture (onshore Texas) has now leased 24,390 acres of the Eagle Ford Shale trend (6,707 acres net to Strike) and we have commenced a process to evaluate our acreage.

• Wilcox Slope drilling – The St Landry Canyon Project’s AD Kennison 1 well (onshore Louisiana) has now reached 11,500 feet on the way to a total planned depth of 18,100 feet.

• Cash position – Strike has sufficient cash to fund our current exploration program. We also continue to enjoy stable revenues from our USA producing assets.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Strike Energy is pleased to confirm Mr David Wrench’s appointment as Managing Director and to welcome Mr Ben Thomas and Mr Eytan Uliel as Directors of the company. The appointments add valuable technical, commercial and international oil & gas sector experience to the Board.

David Wrench - B Eng (Mining) Hons Managing Director

David Wrench has served as a Non-Executive Director of Strike since the Company’s inception in 1998. Amongst other things, David was pivotal in the early capitalization and IPO of the Company. His appointment as Managing Director is an important step in Strike’s management renewal process and is expected to advance the Company towards a new and focused growth phase.

Prior to assuming the role of Strike’s Managing Director, which will take effect from 1 October 2011, David held senior leadership roles with Eastern Nomad Buildings and the private equity arm of Macquarie Bank.

Ben Thomas - B Sc (Petroleum Engineering) Executive Director

Ben Thomas joined Strike in mid-2010 and presently serves as the Company’s President of US Operations. His elevation to the Board reflects Ben’s strong technical capabilities and experience, but also the importance of the USA assets to Strike’s growth strategy.

Prior to joining Strike, Ben has over 40 years upstream petroleum sector experience, including management, engineering and marketing roles with Mobil Oil Corporation, Superior Oil Company, Mark Producing, Edisto Resources and Hall-Houston Oil Company.

Eytan Uliel - BA, LL B Non-Executive Director

Eytan Uliel is the Chief Commercial Officer of ASX listed Dart Energy. He offers Strike the benefit of his extensive corporate finance expertise and international commercial experience within the oil & gas sector.

Prior to joining Dart Energy, Eytan held senior investment banking roles in Australia and Asia. He has served on a number of public company boards, including the Australian coal seam gas pioneer, CH4 Gas.

SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Strike Energy is also pleased to announce the appointments of Mr Andrew Dimsey and Mr Andrew Hooper-Nguyen to senior management roles within the Company.

Andrew Dimsey - B Bus, CPA General Manager – Australia

Andrew Dimsey was appointed as General Manager of Strike’s Australian business in September 2011, although he has served as Company Secretary since June. Andrew has substantial financial and commercial experience within the Australian oil & gas sector. His role will be to drive the development of Strike’s Australian assets, especially in the Cooper Basin.

Prior to joining Strike, Andrew has 30 years of oil & gas exploration, development and operations experience. He has held management positions with Beach Petroleum, Alliance Oil Development, Claremont Petroleum, Origin Energy and ARC Energy.

Andrew Hooper-Nguyen - LL B (Hons), B Com Chief Financial Officer & Chief Commercial Officer

Andrew Hooper-Nguyen joined Strike in July. He will be responsible for the Company’s capital management and for driving business strategy, new ventures, and other commercial activities.

Andrew has extensive financial, commercial, business management and international experience. He has been a member of Macquarie Bank’s investment banking team (oil & gas / mining) and has also held positions with Freehills, Framework Capital and Scorpio Logistics.

Strike Energy warmly thanks Mr Simon Ashton for his committed service. After almost 14 years of leadership, Simon will retire as Managing Director on 30 September 2011. He will continue to contribute to the Company as a Non-Executive Director.
