Emerge banks AUD$2.8M from TIL settlement

Emerge Gaming Limited (ASX: EM1) (“Emerge” or the “Company” ), the operator of eSports and gaming technology, is pleased to provide an update on the status of the investment dispute with the Arab Republic of Egypt (Egypt). As part of its ASX re-listing, Shareholders of the Company of record on 3 November 2017 received shares in an unlisted, Australian public Company Tantalum International Limited (“TIL”).

The intention of the TIL spin-out was to provide long-term shareholders with exposure to a potentially successful legal claim against Egypt in proceedings which relate to the alleged expropriation (amongst other claims) of TIL’s 50% interest in the Abu Dabbab Tantalum-Tin-Feldspar project, located in southern Egypt. Emerge negotiated to retain an interest in any financial award arising out of the legal claim.

Emerge and TIL are pleased to announce that, as a result of a successful process of negotiation with Egypt, the parties have settled their dispute, and the Claimants have received payment of the settlement sum in cash.

Emerge has banked its share of the cash payment from Egypt, amounting to AUD$2.8M.

Commenting on the settlement, Emerge CEO Greg Stevens noted:
