TOM POCKETT TO JOIN STOCKLAND BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Tom Pockett, the former long-serving Chief Financial Officer of Woolworths Limited, will join the Stockland Board from 1 September 2014.
Mr Pockett served as CFO of Woolworths from 2002 and was appointed a Director of Woolworths in 2006. He retired from Woolworths on 1 July this year. Prior to joining Woolworths, he was Deputy CFO of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (2000 – 2002) and held several senior finance roles with Lend Lease Corporation (1988 – 2000).
Stockland Chairman Graham Bradley said: “Tom is a high calibre director with outstanding capability and experience. We are delighted to welcome him to our Board.
“Not only will Tom bring deep practical experience as a senior finance executive, but he will also bring to our Board his extensive experience in the retailing sector, supply chain logistics management and property development and management.
“His business and professional experience will deepen the Board’s capabilities in several areas and will enable him to contribute to Stockland’s business strategy and future performance.”
Mr Pockett is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UNSW. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and in 2009 was recognised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants as the “most outstanding Chartered Accountant in business”.
He was formerly a member of the Group of 100, the AICD Accounting & Advisory Committee and the Financial Reporting Council.
As required by the Stockland Constitution, Mr Pockett will offer himself for election by securityholders at the 2014 Annual General Meeting to be held in October.
