ASX / MEDIA RELEASE
Appointment of Non-Executive Director Alan Cransberg
Stealth Global Holdings Ltd (ASX: SGI) (the Company or Stealth) announces that Mr Alan Cransberg is to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director.
Mr Cransberg is expected to start with Stealth on 6 April 2020. A summary of his experience is attached.
Stealth Chairman, Chris Wharton, welcomed Alan to the Stealth Global Holdings organisation and said: “The Board is delighted with Alan’s appointment and believes he is the right candidate to help lead the organisation into its next era. Alan has enormous experience. His last executive position before retiring in April, 2016, was as Chairman & Managing Director for Alcoa of Australia and President Global Refining, directly responsible for $5 billion in annual production and sales of Alumina. Alan has extensive involvement in the Industrial services industry as well as on the board of companies across many industry sectors that are highly regulated with important and diverse stakeholders. We believe that Alan has the experience, personal qualities and vision to help ensure that Stealth continues to embrace and benefit from the dynamic developments occurring both in Australia and overseas.”
Group Managing Director, Mike Arnold said: “I am delighted that Alan will join our Board. I inherit another quality individual to support our Company in executing on its plans. The company is now facing significant and complex changes to the economic and competitive environment. It has put itself in a good position to compete effectively and grow, though we need to ensure we continue to position ourselves not just over the next six months, but come out stronger on the other side. We remain with a long-term orientated view to deliver on our corporate and business strategy as we have previously outlined.”
During a period of substantial change in global markets, Alan's financial, operational, engineering and research and development skills, coupled with his domestic and International experience, judgment and personal discipline are complementary to the existing board members and critical to ensuring Stealth remains strong in its ongoing strategic performance.
The appointment of Mr Cransberg will not add further cost to the company. The Board of Stealth Global Holdings have reduced their individual earnings to accommodate this appointment.
