Grant of Share Options
This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 17.06A of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
Standard Chartered PLC (the "Company") announces that on 1 October 2012, an award of options to acquire 789 ordinary shares of USD0.50 each in the capital of the Company (the "Shares") was granted to Peter Sands, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company under the Company's 2004 UK Sharesave scheme at the exercise price of £11.40.
The closing market price of the Shares on the London Stock Exchange on the date of grant (1 October 2011) was £14.36. Under the Company's 2004 UK Sharesave scheme, the options may be exercised within a period of six months after the third anniversary of the date of grant.
