Group Chief Executive

Further to the announcement made on 26 February 2015 and 6 May 2015 regarding the appointment of Mr Bill Winters as Group Chief Executive and Group Executive Director of Standard Chartered PLC (the "Company") with effect from 10 June 2015, the following information is given in accordance with Rule 13.51(2) of the Hong Kong Listing Rules.

Mr Winters is currently a Non-Executive Director of Novartis International AG, Pension Insurance Corporation plc, and Chief Executive of Renshaw Bay (Mr Winters will step down from Renshaw Bay on 9 June 2015). He was previously a Non-Executive Director of RIT Capital Partners plc.

Mr Winters has no relationship with any directors, member of senior management or substantial or controlling shareholders of the Company as at the date of his appointment. Mr Winters currently holds 2,000 shares in the Company. There is no other information to be disclosed under the requirements of Rule 13.51(2) of the Hong Kong Listing Rules.
