STADA is on track to expand U.S. business Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– STADA Arzneimittel AG has acquired a generic product range with sales volume of 4 million USD for its US subsidiary. The product range acquired from ESI Lederle on 28/12/2001 includes 81 approvals for generics (so-called ANDAs) and 11 pending ANDAs for various indications. With this acquisition STADA is on track to continue the planned expansion of its marketing and sales company in the U.S., the largest market for generics in the world. The first step was the take-over of operations of Mova Laboratories with a sales volume of 26 million USD, effective on 01/01/2002. For 2002 STADA now anticipates U.S. sales of approx. 38 million Euro (over 33 million USD) and targets further expansion of its U.S. business by means of additional product acquisitions. STADA Arzneimittel AG, listed in the MDAX, achieved record sales in 2001. By September 30, 2001, sales increased by +15% to 404 million Euro, EBITDA by +58% to 61.4 million Euro. For 2001 STADA expects group sales of well in excess of 500 million Euro after already reaching group sales of 511.3 million Euro (= 1 billion DM) by the first days of December.
