The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– STADA: Sales billionaire Sales of MDAX-listed STADA Arzneimittel AG passed the one billion DM threshold during the first days of this month. This means the company is well on target to meet its sales forecast for the year as a whole, which was set significantly above the billion mark threshold. This equates to a doubling of sales within just three years. STADA is also set to clearly and surely meet its income forecast. The EBITDA forecast for 2001 was for a double-figure increase on the prior years earnings, which increased overportionately compared to sales. After 9 months, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were +58% up on the prior year at DM 120.2 million (EUR 61.4 million). In view of this jump in income, the Executive Board and Supervisory Board have already announced their intention to propose to the shareholders at the next annual shareholders meeting a strong +20% rise in the dividend per common share, from EUR 0.49 (DM 0.95) to EUR 0.59 (DM 1.15). The highly satisfactory growth achieved by the group is based on its strategic positioning as STADA – The Health Company. With value-for-money products (generics, branded drugs, particularly for self-medication and in the wellness area, special pharmaceuticals), STADA offers cost-effective solutions in the growth sector of the health market. While the EU has been the primary market in the past, with the acquisition of the generics supplier MOVA Laboratories Inc. in Cranbury, New Jersey – contracts have already been signed and the deal will become effective on 1 January 2002 – STADA has now established a base in the USA for further internationalization.
