GERICOM sales increase by 42 percent Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– First quarter sales of 125,0 million EUR (2002: 88,0 million EUR), EBIT: 4,9 million EUR (2002: 4,3 Mio. EUR), Earnings per share up by 17% to 0,34 EUR (2002: 0,29 EUR) GERICOM AG has seen a 42% increase in first quarter sales of the 2003 trading year to 125,0 million EUR (Q1 2002: 88,0 million EUR) over the previous year. The earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased to 4,9 million EUR (Q1 2002: 4,3 million EUR). The gross profit margin returned to 7.4% after it’s decline in the second half of 2002. The quarterly surplus increased over the comparable period in the previous year to 3,7 million EUR (2002: 3,1 million EUR). Earnings per share rose to 0,34 EUR (2002: 0,29 EUR). The level of orders in the first three months of the year has been a positive development. It reached a high level of 59,6 million EUR (2002: 72,7 million EUR) at the end of March. With innovations such as the first notebook using Intel Centrino technology, widescreen displays and successful marketing activities together with partners from the retail sector, GERICOM has been able to consolidate its position as one of the market leading manufacturers of notebooks for private users in Germany.
