The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– GERICOM: SALES, EBIT AND INCOME MORE THAN DOUBLED IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2001 Linz, May 23, 2001: As a result of the sustained, dynamic increase in demand for computing & communications area products (above all notebooks), GERICOM AG, which is listed on the New Market (WKN 565 773), was again able to grow at a much faster rate than the market. As compared with the first quarter of the preceding year (EUR 80.16 m), group sales increased by 103.73% to EUR 163.3m. EBIT stood at EUR 8.13 m. which represented growth of 150.32% over the 1st quarter of 2000 (EUR 3.25 m). The EBIT margin of 4.98% was well up on the 4.05% of the first quarter of the previous year. Net income almost trebled in the first quarter of 2001, totalling EUR 5.48 m (1st Q.2000: EUR 1.88 m). Earnings per share went up from EUR 0.22 to EUR 0.50, a rise of 127.27%. Against this background, GERICOM is extremely optimistic with regard to the course of business for the remainder of the year. As a result of the targeted expansion of its proven business concept and the systematic exploitation of opportunities in the European market, during 2001 GERICOM intends to achieve sales growth of 40%.
