ADDITIONAL LISTING

SSE (the "Company") announces that application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the listing of, and to the London Stock Exchange for the admission of, a total of 1,953,181 ordinary shares.  

Of these 1,953,181 ordinary shares, a total of 1,128,181 will be issued pursuant to the allotment of shares under the Company's Scrip Dividend Scheme in respect of the final dividend for the year ended 31 March 2013.

The Block Listing of the remaining 825,000 ordinary shares is required to satisfy allotments of shares under the Company's SAYE Sharesave Scheme. 

The above shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the Company's existing issued ordinary shares.
