GAS DISTRIBUTION PRICE CONTROL

Scotia Gas Networks (SGN), in which SSE plc has a 50% stake, is minded not to reject the Final Proposals for the next gas distribution price control for the period 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2021 set out by Ofgem on 17 December 2012, in respect of Scotland Gas Networks and Southern Gas Networks.

John Morea, SGN's Chief Executive Officer said: "Our Board has looked at Ofgem's proposals as a package and, subject to agreement on detailed implementation, believes they should allow the maintenance of safe and reliable gas networks and a fair return to be earned for doing so."
