Directorate Change

Non-Executive Director Jeremy Beeton will step down from the Board of SSE plc at the end of its Annual General Meeting on 19 July 2018. Jeremy joined the Board of SSE on 1 July 2011 and is Chairman of its Safety, Health and Environment Committee.

This will leave the Board comprising five non-Executive Directors (appointed in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018), three Executive Directors and the Chairman. An additional non-Executive Director is expected to be appointed in the course of this financial year. 

Richard Gillingwater, Chairman of SSE plc, said: 

"I would like to thank Jeremy for everything he has done since he joined the Board of SSE.  In particular, he has brought a wealth of experience to his role as Safety, Health and Environment Committee Chair, and he has enhanced Board discussions with his contributions on a wide range of issues.  We are particularly grateful for the valuable role Jeremy has played in helping SSE evolve its approach to the large capital projects it has undertaken since he became an NED."
