Transformer fire at SSAB Hämeenlinna mill

A transformer fire occurred at the SSAB Europe Hämeenlinna mill this afternoon and the mill was evacuated due to smoke. The fire has been extinguished. There were no injuries.

According to a preliminary estimate, production will be down in the cold rolling section of the mill for a few days. Galvanized and color-coated products will soon be able to be produced at a normal speed, but cold rolling will run at a limited capacity initially. Repair work starts as soon as possible.
