Posting of Circular and Notice of General Meeting

Smart Metering Systems plc (AIM: SMS.L) ("SMS" or the "Group") confirms that, further to the announcements of 13 September 2021 and 14 September 2021, copies of the Circular (incorporating the Notice of General Meeting) together with the Form of Proxy, have been sent to eligible Shareholders today.

The Circular and Notice of General Meeting will shortly be available on the Group's website at www.sms-plc.com.

The General Meeting will be held at the offices of the Group at Third Floor, 48 St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5TS at 9.00 a.m. on 1 October 2021 for the purposes of passing certain Resolutions in relation to the proposed Fundraising.

The expected timetable set out in the initial announcement of 13 September 2021 remains unchanged.

Capitalised terms not otherwise defined in the text of this Announcement have the meanings given in the Group's announcement regarding the proposed Fundraising released at 4.35 p.m. on 13 September 2021.
