Spire Healthcare Group plc (LSE: SPI), a leading UK independent hospital group, today announces that Peter Bamford gave notice on 27 February 2019 that he intended to step down as Spire's Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of the Company at the Company's forthcoming AGM in May. His successor will be announced in due course.

Garry Watts, Spire's Chairman, said: "The Board is very grateful to Peter for his contributions to Spire Healthcare since joining the Company in 2017, I personally would like to record my thanks to him for the support he provided to me during my period of ill health in 2017 and we wish him well for the future."

The Company has today made its preliminary announcement of the 2018 full year financial results which also contains guidance for the 2019 full financial year.
