Spire Healthcare appoints new Chief Operating Officer

London, UK, 18 September 2018: Spire Healthcare Group plc (LSE: SPI), one of the UK's leading independent hospital groups, is pleased to announce that it has appointed John Forrest as its new Chief Operating Officer. John will take up his duties on 8 October 2018.

John joins Spire from Greene King - the UK's leading pub retailer and brewer - where he has held a number of senior positions including COO for retail and most recently Managing Director for their Pub Partners division. Prior to Greene King, John was at Whitbread for eight years, including four years as COO of Premier Inn. Earlier in his career John worked for a number of major retailers.

During his time with Greene King, John led a large workforce, successfully introducing standardisation across the operation, managing an effective cost-savings programme, improved their customer experience and implemented a workforce planning tool. His experience at Premier Inn includes the development and implementation of an award-winning customer experience programme, redefining their operating model to improve efficiencies and delivering operational effectiveness through best practice and process improvements.
