Dear Shareholder Spectris plc (the 'Company') – 2017 Annual Report

Please note that the Spectris plc Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2017 is now available to view on the Spectris website at www.spectris.com.

Please find enclosed the Notice of Meeting for the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held on 25 May 2018, and form of proxy to allow you to vote on items to be considered at that meeting if you are unable to attend in person.

If you would like to receive an email notification of shareholder communications from Spectris, you can register for this on Equiniti's Shareview website at www.shareview.co.uk. This facility is encouraged as a more convenient and prompt method of communication, reducing printing and mailing costs for Spectris and also helping to reduce the impact of these activities on the environment. You will be able to revoke your registration or request a printed copy of any shareholder communication at any time.

Please also be aware that a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP) is available as an alternative to receiving dividends in cash. Full details of the DRIP and an application form are available at www.spectris.com. New applications to participate in the DRIP must be received by the Company's Share Registrars at least 15 working days before the date of the next dividend payment.
