ACACIA SECURES TRAIN LOADING CAPACITY AT COMET RIDGE

Acacia Coal Limited (ASX: AJC) is pleased to announce that it has executed the Development and Operations Agreements with Bandanna Energy Limited (ASX: BND) for a train loadout facility to be located on Acacia’s exploration tenement EPC 1230.

Bandanna will construct, own and operate the 14Mtpa facility, to be known as Triumph Creek, for its Springsure Creek project, and provide Acacia with train loading capacity and direct access to the rail network.

The key points of the Bandanna / Acacia Agreements are:

• Permits Bandanna to apply for Infrastructure and Corridor MLs on EPC 1230;

• Provides Acacia with 1 Mtpa guaranteed rail loading and access, and up to an additional 1Mtpa subject to spare capacity;

• Access to the facility and train loading charges at operational cost.

• The issue to AJC of 20 million Bandanna five year options to acquire fully paid shares exercisable at $1.50, vesting on granting of the Infrastructure ML.

Gavin May, Acacia Coal’s MD says “This is a major achievement for both companies and we look forward to a close working relationship with Bandanna. Securing rail loading access of sufficient capacity and at no capital cost represents a very significant and critical part of Acacia’s plans for the future at Comet Ridge. The finalisation of these Agreements will allow the Acacia team to now concentrate on resource definition, mining and processing options towards the development of a feasibility study for the Comet Ridge Project. ”

Update**

Drilling at Comet Ridge finished on 1 September 2012, after completing 136 holes for a total 5,007 metres. A total of 12 cores holes were taken of the Fair Hill and Triumph seams.

Testing, data review, analysis and resource modelling is progressing towards issuing an updated JORC compliant Resources Statement in Q4.
