Sky to commence selling Adventurer in the UK

Highlights

• Sky UK Limited (“Sky”) is expanding its suite of Spacetalk products, commencing sales of the next generation Adventurer smartphone watch for kids

• Target launch in Q1 FY22[1]

Spacetalk Ltd. (ASX:SPA) (“Spacetalk” or “Company”), developer of innovative technologies that keep families safe and connected, is pleased to announce that Sky UK Limited (“Sky”) is expanding its range of Spacetalk products available through Sky retail in the UK, commencing sales of the next generation Adventurer smartphone watch for kids.

Target launch is in Q1 FY22.

Adventurer will range in all Sky shops and kiosks across the UK and online.

Spacetalk Adventurer – the Company’s next generation 4G smartphone watch for kids aged 5-12 – was launched in December 2020 in Australia in time for Christmas sales. In its first six months, Spacetalk Adventurer sales have grown to make it the Company’s flagship product, exceeding the original Spacetalk Kids device unit sales in ANZ over the period.

In the UK, Spacetalk first launched with Sky in late 2019. Despite challenges in the retail environment due to Covid-19, awareness of the Spacetalk brand has continued to grow and sales are increasing. Since non-essential retail was able to open in the UK earlier this year, Sky has reopened its shops and has been investing in new, high-profile flagship openings, as excitement builds and a robust bounce-back in consumer confidence is expected.

The commitment of both Sky and Spacetalk to growing the category of kids smartphone watches in the UK is founded on the category’s increasing mass market appeal. As such, Sky has now decided to expand its ranging of Spacetalk smartphone watches by ranging the next generation Adventurer for kids, to gain greater consumer awareness as the go-to-destination in the rapidly growing category of connected kids smartphone watches.

Spacetalk CEO Mark Fortunatow said: “We are pleased to be expanding Spacetalk’s range across Sky’s UK shops and online. When Sky first launched Spacetalk’s original kids smartphone watch, in late 2019, sales were unfortunately impacted by the restrictions introduced to limit the spread of Covid-19. Despite these challenges, we’ve seen the continued strong growth of Spacetalk in ANZ and the successful launch and uptake of Adventurer by consumers and new tier-1 telcos and mass market retailers; with both sales and after-market customer feedback outperforming every expectation.

The financial impact of selling Adventurer through Sky is currently unknown, with no guaranteed or minimum level of revenue, however, the Company expects it to have a direct positive impact on the total revenue of the Company and be reflected in the disclosure thereof.
