Spacetalk Receives $428,853 Tax Research and Development Rebate

Spacetalk Ltd (ASX: SPA) (“Spacetalk” or “the Company”), which develops and sells hardware and software to provide safety at every stage of life, including Australia’s best-selling kids smartwatches, has received an R&D tax incentive cash rebate payment of $428,853 from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for the year ended 30 June 2024.

The rebate reflects Spacetalk's continued investment in innovation and research to enhance its range of connected devices and launch new services and software. The Australian Government’s Research and Development Tax Incentive rebates up to 43.5% of investments that companies make into research and development.

Spacetalk Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Simon Crowther , commented: “This funding strengthens Spacetalk's cash position and will contribute to ongoing product development and operational initiatives. We are grateful to the Australian government for rewarding high-quality research and development through the tax incentive.”

“Spacetalk continues to demonstrate strong financial discipline while delivering sustained growth. In 2Q25, we grew Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) by 16% vs PCP to $11.0m (2Q24: $9.5m), reinforcing our focus on high-quality, sustainable revenue. “

“At the same time, we reduced operating payments (excluding inventory) by 25% vs PCP to $3.7m (2Q24: $5.0m), reflecting the benefits of optimising and right-sizing our cost base.”
