Spacetalk enters the mPERS and 24/7 safety monitoring market

Spacetalk Life watch relaunched as Mobile Personal Emergency Response System (mPERS) device in collaboration with Safety Link

• Spacetalk has relaunched its Life watch as a Mobile Personal Emergency Response System (mPERS) device
• Spacetalk will initially go to market in collaboration with Safety Link, a 24/7 monitoring provider and part of Grampians Health, Victoria

Spacetalk Limited (ASX:SPA) ("Spacetalk" or "the Company") is pleased to announce it has entered the mPERS and 24/7 safety monitoring market with the relaunch of its Spacetalk Life watch.

The Spacetalk Life device has been engineered to meet Australian Standard AS 4607-1999. Available immediately, customers can purchase a Spacetalk Life watch with Australia wide 24/7 Safety Link monitoring, automatic fall detection, SOS emergency function and GPS location awareness.

Each Spacetalk Life mPERS device purchased is bundled with a recurring 12-month subscription to a Spacetalk Mobile 4G wearable plan and recurring 12-month paid subscription to the Spacetalk family and carers companion app.

These features and meeting Australian Standard 4607-1999 relating to personal response systems, define the Spacetalk Life device as a Mobile Personal Emergency Response System (mPERS) device. This designation sets us apart from the competition, and allows us to sell to, and collaborate with 24/7 monitoring providers and their clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Safety Link is a provider of Australia wide 24/7 safety monitoring services, and part of Grampians Health, a public health organisation servicing a catchment of over 250,000 people in the Grampians region of Victoria. Safety Link provides nationally available 24/7 monitored personal emergency response services to a range of public and private clients, including retirement villages and individuals. Safety Link is a registered NDIS provider and Safety Link services can be funded through a Home Care Package (Levels 1-4).

Collaborating with Safety Link provides Spacetalk customers and their families with the peace of mind that help is always on hand, and individuals with the freedom to age in place, and continue to live independently.

Continuing the relaunch and expansion of Spacetalk's business model

Peace of mind for families is set to become more important than ever over the next two decades, as the number of people in Australia aged 75 or over is expected to double. By 2050, an estimated one quarter of all Australians will be aged 65 years and over.

As the proportion of younger Australians declines, the number of people aged 65 years and over is expected to overtake the number of children aged 0 to 14 years as soon as 2025.

Around 7 in 10 Australian seniors indicate that they prefer to receive care and live independently at home (age in place), with only 1 in 4 people aged 85 years or over living in care accommodation.

Aging in place is supported by Australian Federal Government initiatives include the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP) funding for assistive technology, including devices that assist with personal safety.
