Spacetalk to Launch Jumpy SIM MVNO in USA

Spacetalk Ltd. (ASX:SPA) (“Spacetalk”), developer of innovative technologies that keep families confidently connected, is pleased to announce plans to establish a mobile operator service (Mobile Virtual Network Operator - “MVNO”) in the United States (“US”). This service will operate under a newly developed brand, Jumpy SIM.

The Jumpy SIM MVNO will provide mobile networked SIM plans specifically designed for any brand of smart wearable device and other low data consumers. Jumpy SIM will utilise the mobile operator infrastructure of a leading US mobile (cellular) network.

Once launched, Spacetalk will bundle a Jumpy SIM mobile network SIM with its Spacetalk Adventurer devices sold in the US through e-commerce and mass market retailer channels. The inclusion of a Jumpy SIM with Spacetalk wearables will simplify and enhance the customer proposition and user experience, and will generate new and additional recurring revenues for Spacetalk.

Due to competitive and commercial constraints, Spacetalk is not yet able to disclose pricing, but it is anticipated that this service will generate a gross margin in the order of US$4-5 per month per user.

Subject to the satisfactory completion of technical testing, Spacetalk intends to launch Jumpy SIM in the US before the end of June 2022. The cost of implementation and development will be met from within the Company’s existing financial resources. Jumpy SIM services in other countries are also currently under investigation.

Spacetalk CEO Mark Fortunatow said: “We are excited about the coming launch of Jumpy SIM and the opportunities it presents for the Company to enhance our offerings and to capture more value from our products and services.

“Not only will Jumpy SIM significantly boost our wearables customer proposition and experience, but it will also strengthen our core business economics.

The financial impact on Spacetalk from the establishment of Jumpy SIM is currently unknown, with no guaranteed or minimum level of revenue, however, the Company expects it to have a direct positive impact on the total revenue of the Company and be reflected in the disclosure thereof.
