Item 8.01 Other Events

On July 17, 2012, the Board of Directors of Southern Missouri Bancorp, Inc. ("Southern Missouri") (NASDAQ: SMBC), declared its 73 rd consecutive quarterly dividend on common stock since the inception of the Company. The cash dividend of $.15 per common share represents a 25% increase in the quarterly dividend, and will be paid on August 31, 2012, to common stockholders of record at the close of business on August 15, 2012. The Board of Directors and management believe the payment of a quarterly cash dividend enhances shareholder value and demonstrates our commitment to and confidence in our future prospects.
