APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN AND NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND COMPLETION OF PLACEMENT

Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited (ASX: SUH) ( Southern Hemisphere or the Company ) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr David Lenigas as Non- Executive Chairman of the Company and Mr Keith Coughlan as a NonExecutive Director effective today.

In addition, the Company wishes to announce that the private placement announced on 21 March 2017 has settled.

David Lenigas, Southern Hemisphere’s new Non – Executive Chairman, commented:

“Southern Hemisphere is an excellent platform to build a new mining resources company. The focus of the Company going forward will be to identify new and exciting exploration or production opportunities in Australia and elsewhere that the board believes will add significant value to shareholders. These are challenging times in the global resources markets, however there are always good opportunities looking for investment, in particular around the renewable energy supply space, gold and in some key base metals. Both Keith Coughlan and I have considerable global experience with all of these sectors, and these will be our priority.”

Mr Lenigas is an experienced mining engineer, with a Western Australian First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, and has significant global resources and corporate experience, having served as executive chairman, chairman, and non-executive director of many public listed companies in London, Canada, Johannesburg, and Australia.

Mr Coughlan has almost 30 years’ experience in stockbroking and funds management. He has been largely involved in the funding and promoting of resource companies listed on the ASX, AIM and TSX. He has advised various companies on the identification and acquisition of resource projects and was previously employed by one of Australia’s then largest funds.

The resignations of Mr Douglas Young and Mr Brian Beresford, announced on 22 March 2017, also take effect today. Mr. Trevor Tennant remains a Non-Executive Director.
