Awards
Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited (“SCEE Group”) is pleased to announce that various subsidiaries have received a range of awards in the data centre and rail sectors as below.
DigiCo SYD1 Data Centre
In NSW, SCEE Group businesses have been awarded a range of works on DigiCo Infrastructure REIT’s SYD1 20MW Deployment Data Centre Project located in Sydney’s Inner-City West, in which the existing SYD1 Data Centre is being expanded with additional levels and increased power capacity. The awards are as follows:
-
Heyday has been awarded by SHAPE Australia Pty Limited (“SHAPE”) the design and construct scope for the installation of low-voltage switchboards, busways, generators, and UPS systems, along with the supply and installation of cable containment, LV reticulation, lighting, and general power systems. Works have commenced and are scheduled for completion in Q2 2026. Heyday has a long-standing history at this data centre facility, having completed major electrical works on behalf of the M+W/Cockram Joint Venture in 2014, when the site was known as Global Switch, followed by a further significant power upgrade in 2017 for Hutchinson Builders.
-
Force Fire has been awarded by SHAPE the fire services design and construct works which scope includes the fire hydrant system, portable fire extinguishers, automatic fire sprinkler system, fire detection system, emergency warning and intercommunication system, and a water mist system. This is in addition to demolition works on site which have recently been completed by Force Fire for SHAPE. The installation works have commenced and are expected to be completed in Q2 2026.
-
Trivantage Manufacturing has received an order from a subsidiary of DigiCo Infrastructure REIT for the supply of electrical switchboards for this project. This includes the manufacture and supply of seven sets of generator and UPS switchboards. Trivantage Manufacturing will work closely with Heyday’s engineering team to complete the design of the switchboards. They are being manufactured locally at our Sydney facilities and are expected to reach completion in accordance with the approved project schedule.

Sydney Metro St Marys Station Project
Heyday has been awarded and issued an Authorisation to Proceed by Webuild S.p.A. (“Webuild”), for the Electrical and Communications Systems package for the St Marys Station Project, a part of the new Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Line which is being delivered by the Parklife Metro JV (“PLMJV”), a consortium comprising Plenary Group, Siemens, Webuild and RATP. The project will deliver a new metro rail connection running from St Marys on the existing T1 heavy rail line to the Western Sydney Aerotropolis near Bringelly, via Western Sydney Airport.
Heyday’s scope includes the full low-voltage electrical and communications services installation, as well as the installation of switchboards supplied by Trivantage Manufacturing under a consortiumwide supply agreement, the award of which to Trivantage Manufacturing was announced by SCEE to the ASX on 12 August 2025.
Heyday has extensive experience in major rail infrastructure, including the recently completed Sydney Metro Gadigal Station project. Works will commence immediately, with targeted completion in Q1 2027.
Comment
Commenting on the above, SCEE Group Managing Director Graeme Dunn said “I am pleased to be announcing further awards in the data centre and rail transport sectors which have been strong and growing sources of activity for us. I note that in both this particular data centre facility and on the Sydney Metro infrastructure development generally, we have done significant volumes of work previously and so to secure these new works is a testament to the quality of our past delivery.
I also observe that on both of these developments we are drawing on multiple disciplines from across the group, which not all of our competitors are able to match. This of course benefits us as we are able to get more out of each project, but I believe also benefits our clients as we are able to deepen our relationships with them and better co-ordinate delivery across disciplines to them.”
