Highlights

  • Circa $80m of awards in the transport infrastructure and commercial sectors

  • Range of awards demonstrates SCEE’s strong presence in NSW

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited (“SCEE”) is pleased to announce a number of new awards in NSW in the transport infrastructure and commercial sectors with a total value of circa $80m.

Transport infrastructure

SCEE has been awarded two Minor Works/Services contracts for the supply of electrical services to the Westconnex 1B M4 East project in Sydney by the CPB Contractors Samsung John Holland Joint Venture. The works involve installation of low voltage sub-main and field cabling and cable containment systems for light and power and the fit out of electrical equipment and devices as directed. The M4 East project extends the existing M4 Motorway from near Homebush Bay Drive to Sydney’s inner west.

These works complement the previous announcement by SCEE in July 2018 of an award for the Westconnex M5 project and continues its focus in the transport and infrastructure sectors.

Commercial

SCEE’s Sydney and Canberra-based subsidiary Heyday has been awarded the following projects:

  • Built Obayashi Corporation JV (“BOJV”) has awarded Heyday a subcontract variation for the integrated fitout of Walker Corporation’s Parramatta Square 4 (“PS4”) base building development that is currently under construction. The fitout on behalf of the NSW Government’s property manager Property NSW will incorporate 62,000 sq metres of office space to house various government departments.

  • BOJV has also awarded Heyday a subcontract variation for the integrated fitout of Walker Corporation’s Parramatta Square 3 (“PS3”) base building development also currently under construction. The fitout on behalf of NAB is for 40,000 sq metres of office accommodation.

  • Multiplex has awarded Heyday a subcontract variation for the integrated fitout at the Wynyard Place redevelopment in the Sydney CBD, also on behalf of NAB. Heyday had already secured the base building design and construct subcontract from Multiplex for the 70,000 sq metre commercial tower in early 2017. The award of this NAB fitout complements that at PS3 whereby NAB will have consolidated its seven existing office locations down to these two once these fitouts are completed in 2020.

Comment

Commenting on the awards, SCEE Managing Director Graeme Dunn said “We are extremely pleased to announce such a prestigious range of projects. Combined with other announcements over recent months at Westconnex and for Westmead Hospital this range of projects demonstrates our strong presence in the fast-growing Western Sydney region.”
