SOUTHERN CROSS ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING LIMITED
ASX RELEASE
9 March 2011
The Manager
Company Announcements Office Australian Stock Exchange Limited Level 4, Stock Exchange Centre 20 Bridge Street SYDNEY NSW 2000
ELECTRONIC LODGEMENT
Dear Sir or Madam
SXE Board Changes
Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Ltd (ASX:SXE) today announces that Mr Frank Tomasi will step down as Chairman of the Company and be replaced by Mr John Cooper. Mr Tomasi will remain as a Director and continue to provide valuable contribution.
Mr Tomasi said “I have made this decision after taking into account a number of both business and personal considerations. On the business front I believe SCEE is poised for a period of sustained growth. Under the leadership of our recently appointed CEO Simon High, I believe the
management team of SCEE is extremely well placed to take full advantage of these opportunities. In order to assist Simon and his management team in addition to providing the level of governance demanded as a publicly listed company, I believe now is a good time to make these Board changes.
From a personal viewpoint SCEE has been in my blood for over 33 years. My passion, commitment and pride for the Company will never change, but going forward I intend to spend more time with my family who are equally dear to me.
It is for these reasons I have made the decision to step down as Chairman of SCEE, but will continue in a Non-Executive Director role.
I am extremely pleased that John Cooper has accepted the role as Chairman, as he brings many qualities which will help guide the company through our next phase of growth.
Over the past 3 ½ years as a Non-Executive Director of SCEE, John has demonstrated his ability to make sound decisions as well as bringing good judgement to our board discussions.
I believe a combination of John’s Australian as well as International board experience, coupled with that of Simon High and the current SCEE Management Team is a very powerful foundation on which SCEE can create an exciting period of sustained growth”.
