Sound Oil, the European / Mediterranean focused upstream oil and gas company today announces the retirement of Michael Nobbs as a Non Executive Director of the Company, with immediate effect.

With Mr. Nobbs approaching the milestone of nine years uninterrupted service laid out in the UK Corporate Governance Code as part of its definition of independence, he has taken the decision to retire from the Sound Oil board before the ninth anniversary of his appointment.

Sound Oil's Chairman, Andrew Hockey, said "I want to personally thank Michael for having been a stalwart contributor to the Company's board of directors since 2005. Throughout his years on the board, Michael has displayed huge enthusiasm for the task in hand and given us much valuable insight. On behalf of all the board I wish him the very best for all that he does in the future."
