Sonae hereby informs that Sonae MC has signed an affiliation agreement with the Spanish central purchasing body IFA Group, aimed at jointly leveraging relevant opportunities to negotiate, purchase and develop in the commercial area.

The IFA Group is a Spanish central purchasing body of recognised capabilities founded in 1967 and includes more than 30 different affiliates, leaders in the regions where they operate, amongst the major retailers in Spain. At the end of 2014, in Spain, IFA Group affiliates represented more than 6,000 points of sale, with a turnover of over 10 billion euros and sales area amounting to 3,200,000 square metres, leading food retail in terms of sales area.

The affiliation agreement now established will give Sonae MC access to a broader range of sourcing options, differentiating once more its value proposition for the Portuguese customers - in particular as regards variety and innovation. Accordingly, the new IFA Group will become the largest and greatest platform for all suppliers in the Iberian Peninsula.

It will also be an important avenue for the appreciation of Sonae MC's portfolio of own brands, to the extent that it will explore very interesting internationalisation opportunities in the Spanish market.

Furthermore, it will also give Sonae MC current suppliers access to a new platform of potential business opportunities, in a larger customer base in both geographies.

This agreement will enter into force from January 1^st, 2016 onwards.
