San Vendemiamo (Treviso), 14 July 2025 -- Somec S.p.A (Euronext Milan: SOM), specialising in the design, production and installation of complex turnkey civil and naval projects, has announced that Horizons, Engineered Systems for Naval Architecture and Building Façades, and Talenta, Professional Kitchen Systems and Products business unit have won contracts totalling over 110 million Euro.
The first agreement has been signed with Fincantieri for three ships of the ACE series for Carnival Cruise Line (one under option), each of which can accommodate up to 8,000 passengers. Somec will supply the complete pre-fab balcony module system, as well as the high-performance sliding window frames for all the cabins. The ships are due to be delivered between 2027 and 2028, with the economic impact following the same time horizon.
The second agreement, which was signed with the French company Chantiers de l'Atlantique, covers a ship of the Oasis series of the Royal Caribbean Group fleet. Somec, which has previously collaborated on the construction of ships in the same series at Saint-Nazaire, will supply the "Ocean View Balcony" package in its entirety, including the glazing, windscreens and balustrades for public spaces and Suites, Family Suites and Royal Suites. The ship is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2028, with the economic impact of this order falling within the three-year period from 2026 to 2028.
On the other hand, Oxin will deliver a turnkey solution for the new cruise ship of Japanese company Ryobi Holdings at the West Sea shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. The contract covers the construction and complete fitting out of laundry and catering areas (kitchens, bars, storerooms and cold rooms).
At the same time, Somec will be responsible for installing all the high-performance sliding windows and balcony cabin partitions, the "Ocean View balcony" vertical motorised sliding windows, the public rooms continuous glazing and the Skydome.
Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, with an expected economic impact between 2025 and 2026.
Oxin will also be involved in the construction of six ships for Viking at Fincantieri, four of which are subject to an option. More specifically, the company will be responsible for building the kitchens, catering areas and bars on board the newly built ships. They will provide a turnkey package that includes all phases of the project under the "Made in Italy" banner, including design, production, installation and after-sales support for the equipped areas.
The ships will be delivered between 2030 and 2033 and the economic impact will follow the same time horizon.
