Directorate Changes

Solid State plc (AIM: SOLI), the AIM listed supplier of specialist industrial/ruggedised computers, electronic components, secure communications systems and battery power solutions to the electronics market, is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Thomas Richards with effect from 18 April 2016 as an executive director of the Company and Managing Director of Steatite Limited, one of the Company's 100% owned subsidiaries.

Mr Richards, aged 52, has considerable senior management experience in both private and public companies, most recently as Senior VP and Managing Director at API Technologies Corp (Nasdaq: ATNY), Managing Director for Secure Systems & Technologies Limited and as Business Unit Director at Vislink plc (AIM:VLK) for the defence and security sectors.

John Lavery, the current Managing Director of Steatite Limited, will remain as an executive director of the Company until 31 July 2016 at which time he will take up a non-executive role.

Gary Marsh, CEO, commented: "After an extensive search we are delighted to have secured the services of Matthew, who we have known and admired for a number of years, as the new Managing Director of Steatite. We consider his knowledge and experience, particularly in export markets will be valuable in the continued development of Steatite and the Group.

"I would also like to pay tribute to John Lavery for the key role he has played in the development and success of Steatite over 33 years and the Group as a whole over the last 14 years. John has made it clear for some time that due to family circumstances he would like to relinquish his responsibilities at Steatite this year.

"Given his extensive technical and product knowledge the Board believes John still has a valuable role to play in the future of the Group, particularly in relation to acquisitions, and we are delighted therefore that we will be able to retain access to this expertise in his new non-executive role."
