The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Softing Reinforces Measures to Fulfill Annual Prognosis During the first quarter of the year, incoming orders of the Softing Group amounted to 3.7 million Euro (in 2001: 4.1 million Euro). The large order of approx. 1.1 million Euro for equipping the district heating network in Bruneck, Italy, with Softing components, is not yet included in this calculation. Softing received this order during the reporting period; however, the suborders will only be performed as of the second quarter. The Softing Group achieved a turnover of 3.3 million Euro worldwide during the first quarter (in 2001: 4.1 million Euro). The EBIT amounted to -1.3 million Euro (in 2001: -1.0 million Euro). The first quarter of the year, as in the years before, proved weak in terms of turnover and revenue. The proportionate share in the annual deficit amounts to -0.7 million Euro (in 2001: -0.5 million Euro). In order to fulfill the annual prognosis in spite of the difficult overall economic environment, Softing will continue to promote expansion of sales and substantially improve the efficiency by adaptation of internal costs.
