Softing AG Strengthens Executive Board Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Softing AG Strengthens Executive Board With effect of April 1, 2002, Dr. Wolfgang Trier will be appointed as a member of Softing AG’s executive board. After studying engineering and economics, Dr. Trier has worked in research and development of automated manufacturing systems. This was followed by several years in a leading position within an international management consulting company and in the business management of a plant engineering company. The fields of responsibility within the executive board will be defined in the second quarter of the year in cooperation with the supervisory board. Dr. Manfred Patz, cofounder of Softing AG, has agreed with the supervisory board that he will be relieved of his duties as a member of the executive board with effect of March 31, 2002. He will continue, however, to actively support Softing AG with his expert know-how. According to provisional estimates, the Softing group has achieved a turnover of approx. 18 million Euro and an EBIT of approx. -3.5 million Euro in the past financial year. This corresponds to the expectations already communicated in the third quarter of 2001. The executive board expects a slight upturn in economic growth only as of the second half of 2002. Therefore, the company plans an increase in turnover of only 10% in 2002, resulting in approx. 19.9 million Euro. For the business division Automotive Electronics, turnover will amount to 9.1 million Euro and for Industrial Automation, including 4CONTROL, to 10.8 million Euro. The EBIT will improve by 1.6 million Euro to an amount of approx. -1.9 million Euro. The liquidity position of the group is safe. end of ad-hoc-announcement (c)DGAP 14.02.2002 ——————————————————————————– WKN: 517800; ISIN: DE0005178008; Index: Listed: Neuer Markt in Frankfurt; Freiverkehr in Berlin, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, München, Stuttgart 141444 Feb 02
