ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANNUAL RESULTS & ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Annual Results

On Friday 22 September 2017 the Company plans to release an audited preliminary statement of its annual results for the financial year ended 31 July 2017. The statement will be released via the Regulatory News Service of the London Stock Exchange and will be available on the Company's website, www.smiths.com.

The announcement will include key, regulated information that the Company is required to publish in unedited full text under DTR 6.3.5(2)(b).  The material contained in the announcement will not constitute the Company's annual financial statement, required under the Companies Act 2006, and will not be a substitute for reading the Annual Report 2017, which will be published on or around Tuesday 10 October 2017 and will be available to view and download from www.smiths.com.

The results announcement will be followed by a presentation for financial analysts at 9.00 a.m. (UK time) on 22 September 2017.  This will be broadcast live via webcast on www.smiths.com.  A recording of the webcast will be available on the website from around 1:00 p.m.   

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of Smiths Group plc for 2017 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday 14 November 2017 at the Auditorium of the law firm, Linklaters LLP, One Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8HQ. The Notice of the Annual General Meeting will be published on or around Tuesday 10 October 2017 and will be available to view and download from www.smiths.com.
