Smith & Nephew plc - Application for Block listing.

Application has been made to The UK Listing Authority and The London Stock Exchange for a block listing of 2,750,000 Ordinary Shares of $0.20 each to trade on The London Stock Exchange and to be admitted to The Official List.  The shares shall rank equally with the existing issued shares of the Company.

The block listing consists of Ordinary Shares to be issued under the following plans:

·        1,000,000 for the Global Share Plan 2010;

·        1,000,000 for the 2001 US Share Plan;

·        500,000 for the 2001 UK Unapproved Share Option Scheme; and

·        250,000 for the UK Employee Share Option Scheme
