bmp AG: Axel Springer buys Gamigo
Berlin, 04.09.2008
bmp Media Investors, a wholly owned subsidiary of bmp AG (ISIN
DE0003304200) reports the first exit from their portfolio, which had at
this point comprised eleven companies. It has successfully sold its stake
of 47.37% in the Hamburg based firm Gamigo AG to the co-partner AS Venture
GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axel Springer AG.
bmp and AS Venture had invested in Gamigo in 2000 and had increased their
stakes in the company continuously on a like for like basis. Within the
context of earlier capital actions, bmp had granted AS Venture an option,
which AS Venture has now exercised.
It was agreed to remain discreet about the purchase price. The transaction
has led to an additional contribution to the operating income of bmp Group
of just under € 1 million in the third quarter, in addition to the
appreciation made in the second quarter of this year.
Jens Spyrka, Director of bmp Media Investors says: 'We are proud, that in
the past years and in close cooperation with Axel Springer we have
successfully developed Gamigo AG under the management of its CEO Sven
Ossenbrüggen into a dynamically expanding publisher of MMOG games.'
