International Private Equity GmbH & Co. KG, which was launched by bmp, has added another attractive target fund to its portfolio by investing in New Tech Venture Capital II, which is managed by Mangrove in Luxembourg. The fund of funds is now subscribed to six target funds with a total volume of EUR 16.3 million and has already made initial returns on the fund. bmp advises König & Cie. on selecting target funds and investment strategy. Mangrove Capital Partners is a Luxembourg-based investment company specialising in European venture capital investments. Mangrove Capital Partners is one of Europe’s leading venture capital investors and has performed outstandingly since its foundation in a EUR 50 million fund in the year 2000. As one of the founder investors in Skype, which was sold to eBay in 2005, Mangrove made one of Europe’s best ever venture capital transactions. Investments by NTVC II are focused especially on the European Internet and software segments. The fund was set up in September 2005 and is to be closed in 2006 at a volume of EUR 100 million. The fund has already made two investments. The König & Cie. private equity fund is a fund of funds that invests in select private equity funds. It focuses on target funds that mainly invest in Europe (approx. 50-60%) and in North America (approx. 30-40%). Within the framework of this strategy, the fund is to invest in up to twelve target funds, which in turn invest in 10 to 20 companies each. The portfolio currently consists of four buyouts and two venture capital funds. These are funds of renowned companies such as the Carlyle Group, Oak Hill Capital Partners, Wellington Partners, Gilde Buy-Out and Francisco Partners. The design of the fund of funds guarantees the distribution of investment capital among a large number of target companies, which significantly reduces risks of default. The target funds subscribed to so far are all top performers. This provides a sound basis for targeted returns with a high level of risk diversification for private investors, who can invest in the fund of funds starting from a minimum investment sum of EUR 10,000. About bmp AG: As an international private equity company, bmp directly invests own funds in venture capital holdings and, at the same time, acts as a fund manager for funds of funds and as a private equity advisor.
